Episode 21
As homeschoolers, sometimes we find that we need to scale back to homeschooling simplified.
Whether it’s because of a global pandemic, a sick family member, a new baby, or mama’s health…sometimes life brings the unexpected.
This has come up in quite a few of my conversations with homeschoolers recently.
And in this episode, I want to encourage you to create a super simple homeschool plan for those tough times.
It can be really helpful to have a framework in mind for a minimal homeschooling day so that you can stay calm in the moment and move through the day with rhythm and connection.
I hope the ideas I share in this episode of the podcast are reassuring and inspiring! You’ve got this, mama!
Highlights from Homeschooling Simplified
- How I got through several years of family challenges and how I can still look back with fond memories of those times.
- The importance of rhythm to build a strong foundation for when things get wobbly.
- The idea of the 20-20-20 Rule.
- My favorite mantra, Scale back until it works and then add from there.
20-20-20 Rule for Simplified Homeschooling: 20 minutes of reading aloud, 20 minutes of math practice or math games, and 20 minutes outside. Build back up from there!
