Episode 236
As we step into fall and the start of a new homeschooling year, it’s not hard to slip into stress and overwhelm. Affirmations can ease your back-to-homeschool season and remind you to be present and gentle with yourself and your kiddos.
This time of year, we all long for everything to feel just right.
You’ve poured time and heart into planning beautiful lessons, hoping your kiddos will not only cooperate ~ but maybe even love it.
And yet, without meaning to, we often start comparing our homeschool to the “perfect” images on social media, forgetting that real magic happens in the messy, meaningful moments.
That’s when affirmations can help.
Affirmations are like anchors ~ short, powerful truths that call us back to what really matters.
They’re not about pretending everything is perfect.
They’re about reminding ourselves that homeschooling can be simple, gentle, and connected.
In this episode of the Art of Homeschooling Podcast, I’m sharing affirmations to guide and ground you during the back-to-homeschool season.
These are words you can carry with you when your days feel full or your mind feels scattered.
✨ “I am enough, just as I am.”
✨ “Simple steps move us forward.”
✨ “Rest is part of the lesson plan.”
✨ “I trust the season I am in.”
✨ “My presence is the gift my child needs most.”
…plus many more.
Choose one to be your companion for a while. Write it on a sticky note for your mirror, or tuck it into your planner.
Let these affirmations help you begin again with presence and intention ~ over and over again.

Finding it overwhelming to try and keep up with the pacing for my daughter, she has mild cerebral palsy and I’m doing my own curriculum but we are doing public school pacing, submissions, and testing.. It feels so overwhelming..
Hi Lanie, thanks for stopping by! Is there any way you can adjust the pacing? Our goal at home is to look at our children and bring them what they need. And it sounds to me like the pace isn’t the best fit for your daughter. I hope you can find a way to adjust so that you can both experience some more ease. A-
All the best on your homeschooling journey, Jean
