Episode 269
When I think back on my favorite childhood holiday memories, I remember laughter, cousins, games, and time together. I wonder: what do you want your children to remember about the holidays?
Is it all the beautiful things we planned or purchased, or the simple moments we shared?
I really love holiday traditions! The stories, baking, handmade gifts, and seasonal celebrations bring so much joy to our families. But I also know how quickly all those wonderful ideas can turn into a long to-do list and a lot of pressure.
In this episode, I’m sharing some of my favorite Thanksgiving memories and four simple ways to approach the holiday season with more intention and less pressure.
My hope is that you’ll feel encouraged to choose what matters most to your family. And remember that you don’t have to do ALL THE THINGS in order to create a holiday season full of warmth, connection, and lasting memories.
What Do You Want Your Children to Remember About the Holidays?
What you’ll hear in this episode:
- Why simple traditions often create the strongest memories
- How doing less can bring more joy to your holidays
- What to consider before filling your holiday calendar
- Why our children value our presence more than perfect celebrations
- How to choose one meaningful tradition to begin with
Some of my favorite holiday memories come from the moments no one planned. A room full of laughing cousins. A Thanksgiving play the children created themselves. As you look ahead to the holidays, I hope you’ll give yourself permission to simplify. Choose the traditions your family loves, leave room for spontaneous fun, and enjoy being together. Those are the moments our children will carry with them.
