Sometimes the very best thing we can do for our homeschool is step away for a little while. In today’s episode, I’m sharing what stepping away taught me about homeschooling recently ~ and why a pause can sometimes give us exactly the perspective we need.
After an unexpected three-month break from the podcast, I found myself thinking about the pauses in my own homeschooling journey. Some were chosen, others most definitely were not. But again and again, those seasons helped me see more clearly what really mattered.
When we’re in the thick of homeschooling, it’s easy to focus on what needs to get done next. Stepping away gives us room to ask different questions: Is this still working? Does this still matter? What does my child need right now?
And perhaps most importantly, a pause reminds us that we don’t have to come back exactly as we stepped away. We can observe, reassess, let go of what no longer serves us, and begin again in a way that fits the season we’re in.
